SPARC and the animals rely heavily on the help of people such as yourself.  As a volunteer, we invite you to participate in the regular routine of animal care — feeding, cleaning, grooming, walking and so on. Spending time socializing with the animals is particularly important, as it gets our animals used to people and helps make them more adoptable.

There are also other ways to help out including assisting with events, community outreach, maintenance work around the facility, etc.  Please let us know how you would like to get involved and we will put you to work!

For safety reasons, children under age fourteen cannot volunteer, but certainly may visit. Individuals between the ages of fourteen and seventeen may volunteer if accompanied by a parent or guardian. (Some areas may have additional restrictions.)

On a regular basis, we hold volunteer orientation on Saturdays at the shelter.  If you are interested in attending please contact SPARC and the volunteer coordinator will get in touch with you to confirm orientation time and date.

We appreciate all your support!
